Drawing of the «Toran-ha» hardening line. Copper habaki. The tsuba is round, made in the ko-katsushi style. The surface of the tsuba is cut by notched straight, diverging rays. In Japan, this finish is called «yasurime» — file marks. The tsuba is decorated with cut images of plum blossoms. The surface of the tsuba is patinated in black. The head and sleeve of the handle are also decorated with graceful plum flowers made of silver. Decorative handles are made in the form of plum inflorescences. The scabbard is made of magnolia wood and covered with Japanese black glossy urushi varnish. The device of the scabbard, which includes a mouth in the form of a carp mouth, a scabbard tip and a «kurigata» loop, is made of buffalo horn. The style of the frame of swords «daisho-kosirae» — for wearing a pair of blades threaded through the belt upwards. The slotted cherry blossoms covering the device of swords symbolize the indomitable spirit of the samurai and the transience of life.
